I got BG C72E. I thought cause It's wider, my neck would be freer.. Eventually, It restricts the lower part of my throat and It is a little annoying, any ideas?

Don't turn it upside down, and never hook it on the ceiling beam. Or: who needs a clarinet neck strap, besides Albert Pierrepoint.

Try tying a knot on one side of the cord, just below the pad, on the right or left. (See attached image, below.) The overall length of the cord will then be shorter, so the adjuster shouldn't come as far up and won't pull the sides together as much. (It will change the shape of the triangle above the adjuster.) Don''t pull too hard on the string so that you can get the knot undone easily. You will have to work the string through the adjuster to make both sides the same length again, but that should be super easy.
If that works, you can leave it like that or find a better knot.
If adding the knot works really well, you can shorten the string instead of having the knots. It looks like the string goes into little plastic barrels in the ends of the pad. If you push one of those out there is probably a hole in it, where you will find the knotted end of the string. Cut off the string a little bit, re-knot it, try it to make sure you can still adjust it, then cut off more, etc. Only cut off A TINY BIT at a time, remember the knot itself probably takes up half an inch or more. You might be able to leave the excess on and have it hanging down until you are sure. It's the same thing as knotting it like above, but permanent, so try the first suggestion first.
Alternately, you could make a spreader to go in above the adjuster. Use a dowel rod (1/2" or so diameter, as long as your neck is wide. Drill a small hole in each end, big enough for the string (you MUST use a vise to hold it while you do this - DO NOT try to hold it in your hand). Remove the ends of the string from the pad. Then slip the rod through the holes and reassemble, with the rod just above the adjuster. That's guaranteed to work. You can paint it black if you like. If the rod is too long, and causes problems, just make it shorter.

Thanks guys, I finally took It to a tailor and will mod It, will become like the c50m model, with suspenders to the pants. I think It's gonna be awesome! You know, I would buy the c50m but I can't stand non-elastic chord personally..

farabout - that comment was not nice or helpful. Please don't say things like that.

I think she's just asking you to be a little more pleasant. I don't think that's the way policemen generally do things outside of Mayberry.

@Charlemagne: Could you please define "a little more pleasant" (preferably w/o patronizing anyone)?

Farabout, putting jokes about hanging on a public forum is not nice behaviour. You claim to be a doctor, and have gone so far as to give medical advice on here. If you are a doctor then you will know that putting remarks like that in a forum is triggering for people. Please do not do it. Thanks.

Interesting. I come from the sax world and I prefer non-elastic neck straps.
For my clarinet, I shortened the sax strap about 7 inches, so it holds the clarinet in the proper place without any neck constriction at all.
I had to gently cut the threads, shorten the cord, then learn how to sew it all back together. I have modified two straps so I have a spare and they have been working great for the past couple of years.

There's always the RDG BHOB which won't cause any restriction. I'll keep on posting this link as a reminder there are much better alternatives to slings/neck straps that do bugger all for posture or relieving pressure on your right arm:

Cue the comments, "Oh, but I don't like the idea of it."
The physical practicality outweighs the mere ideas that have no substance.

Chris, how difficult is it to unhook this from one clarinet and reattach to another for changes among A, Bb, C, etc.?

I use the RDG kickstand for my English Horn. I think it's a great tool.
It works best when the chair/seat is relatively flat.

It takes a mere matter of around one second to clip it and unclip it to a ring soldered to the back of the thumbrest, although you can leave it fitted for the time you're playing and gravity will naturally let it swing into position to rest it onto a chair seat. There are some models that have a memory setting so they will set themselves to a predetermined height.
I also use it for cor anglais because of the unnaturally awkward angle the right wrist is bent into because of the length of the instrument. Mine is the original Quodlibet FHRED version which I bought for an elderly clarinet player recovering from a fractured right shoulder as well as arthritis which she was very grateful for as she was about to pack up playing - she got around a further ten years of playing because of it.

Finally, for me, modded C72E BG works really well! Thank you all for your thoughts!
