I played one back in the '70s and it was a decent ligature. It is basically a reverse-screw, twin "horizontal-band" design, perhaps similar to (but allegedly not as good as) the old Vandoren "Masters" ligature. Some folks would coat the inside of the horizontal bands with rubber where they held the back of the reed. I think this helped but was not easy to do (well).
I don't think these are made anymore, but might be available on eBay, etc. If I wanted one, I would look for a plain brass Alto Sax version as I expect the sound would be better.
Looking back, I think current Vandoren M|O ligatures are similar in performance, but perhaps more restrictive. Also, I think the PlayNick ligatures may be similar/better in design/performance.
For me, I find that the Vandoren Optimum and Leather ligatures provide better performance, flexibility and sound than I recall getting from old "Springboard".

Yep I agree about Vandoren Master ligatures - I have used the same one on bass clarinet forever (despite have a BG and an Optimum which I never bother with).
