I like this product. The wand it comes with is less useful for me.
I guess I like moving the reed against the grinder rather than vice versa, much as their are situations where doing the opposite is probably best, as I do with other reed adjustment tools.
The grit on the one I bought years ago has worn down. Off I went to price another and at $60 for an etched piece of glass that size....I shook my head.
After finding glass nail files too narrow to serve my reed adjustment purposes I stumbled upon and bought this:

It's a larger piece of etched glass designed to remove dead skin. It's $13, not $60. It arrived today and I feel like it will definitely be useable as a reed resurfacer: its grit slightly more abrasive than a new Vandoren reed resurfacer, but nothing I can't compensate for by applying less pressure with my reed against its surface.
