My husband has bought me an elderly Selmer bass clarinet. It is not working very well at the moment, so I will need to get it adjusted. I just wondered what model it might be. It is plastic, one piece and I know it is a student model. It says USA on it and there is a small logo above that which is illegible. I am keen to know a bit more about it before I spend good money on a decent mouth piece, stand etc. Any information gratefully received!

It’s a Bundy. It’s a student level instrument although they play fairly well when set up properly.
For a mouthpiece a Fobes Debut is an excellent affordable option.

Those are great instruments once you get them in good working shape. I have a nicer (and significantly more expensive) bass clarinet now, but I still enjoy my old Bundy when I pull it out.

That's really nice to know! I shall take it to Graham deVere White who is a genius technician near us to get it into shape....
Many thanks to you all for taking the trouble to advise me. Here's to my new career on the bass!
