I was just wondering if anyone had a polycrystal mouthpiece? Are they worth it? Thanks!!

I like mine.

Pyne/Clarion is yet another fine sponsor of http://www.sneezy.org.

I have three. They are very different from one another. I like one really well, the other two are OK. They all seem to be a little more resistant than, say, the Hite Premiere or the Fobes Debut, but i personally like the sound a little better as well.

I got one of those Pyne polys for my daughter and her tone was very notiably better over the 5RV she was using. I tried it on mine and I like it too. No complaints.

I am using one as well and really like it. As far as I am concerned, in terms of performance per dollar, I don't think you can beat it.

Yes! I totally agree with Bart. The Pyne Polycrystal is a great student mouthpiece for intermediate to advanced players. Although it is not as high in quality as say, the $60-90 Vandoren mouthpieces, for what you get (which is not very bad at all), it is a very good deal. The extra money you shell out for Vandoren mouthpieces isn't worth extra if you have a high quality Polycrystal.

I personally think the PolyCrystal is the equal of (if not superior to) any of the Vandorens, at least in my experience. I have a number of mouthpieces available to me (a Hawkins, a Selmer, and 2 Vandorens) and I end up using the PolyCrystal more than any of the others.
