jdbassplayer, you're just partially right about how I do it, I don't hold the thumb ring. Anyway, I don't see how you don't see how this is more useful than the standard fingerings, which are both more complex and slower. This is the simple and natural row and flow of opening the tone holes (middle-index-thumb, as opposed to middle-thumb-index finger), and there is no doubt about that. Better in any way - logic, flow, speed, functionality... Of course, with this hole drilling F# is a little too sharp (although I did some work on the holes). My point was rather about the clarion-to-altissimo pass over, throwing fingers all around. This is just an illustration of the idea. As for the chaleumau, next step is to make a whole new upper joint with the proper drilling. Best regards!
