Seabreeze: Always grateful for and receptive to your information. When will we see you in France? This pandemic has cut me off from my American friends who can no longer come here.

Ruben: The U.S. hasn't experienced anything like this pandemic since the "Spanish" Flu epidemic of 1918. Unfortunately we associate face masks with bank robbers and desperados and bristle at the thought of economic shut-downs, social distancing, and medically mandated protocols. As a result, we are having many more serious (often fatal) COVID-19 cases per capita than most of the African continent, Thailand, New Zealand and many other places. I hope we can come around to doing what needs to be done in addition to just waiting for the vaccines. For now, I won't even travel across the U.S., much less across the ocean to France. I get up early to shop for groceries when the store opens at 6:00 am, and otherwise sequester myself in my apartment. What a year 2020 has been!

That may be the case down South, but up here in Trump country it's purely political.
