Was the YCL 651 (not the 650) ever sold in USA?

I can't find much info on the Yamaha YCL 651, leading me to suspect that they were never sold in the USA as new.

There are lots of articles on the '650', but none I can find on the 651.

Is there much difference between them (651 vs 650)?

There are a number of ebay offerings (mainly from Japan) for the 651, leading me to think that they were a Japanese only model.

Any insight?

Thanks

The 651 is an older pro level model (Yamaha's equivalent model to a Buffet R13/RC or Selmer Series 10/10S), most likely the same as the old YCL-62/65 which became the YCL-CX (with inset tonehole chimneys), whereas the 650 is a much newer model to compete with the Buffet E13/C12 and first launched in the '90s as the YCL-64 (and YCL-64-A).
