Re: Valentino pads on Yamaha clarinets

I got a new 650 for a backup a couple of months ago. No plastic buttons in the pads.

Off topic: This, at the bottom of the lineup of Yamaha's "professional' instruments, is an excellent horn. Like all the Yamahas I've ever tried, it plays great right out of the box. Excellent intonation, even the low F. Whatever the pads, they seal superbly. It is just a little more resistant than my CSG's. Btw, though I may have gotten a good price since I know the dealer (didn't ask), I paid <$1500, including tax.
