Yamaha 681 and 881 Eb Clarinets; Is There Much Difference?

I'm not in the market for an Eb clarinet, but if anyone has compared Yamaha's YCL-681II with the 881II, were they significantly different in how they play or wasn't there much in it besides the £500-600 price difference?

I examined them side by side at the ClarinetFest in 2018 and spotted no difference on the outside (apart from logos). I can't remember that they played very differently either.

I'd suspect the 881 has more manual work done to the tone holes.

While I haven't played both of the Eb's, I have played both the 82 and 62 piccolos. There was a huge difference, even with the same headjoint. A friend of mine was with me when I tried them back to back, and he was immediately aware of which was the 62 and which was the 82 (both with the same Manke HJ). Even with the stock headjoint, they were still completely different!

I would imagine that the 681 and 881 are going to be similar. I believe someone on one of the Facebook groups just got an 881 and sold his 681 afterwards.

You might try the Amati Eb clarinet because it's made of wood. After I'd bought my Eb clarinet, there was a music store in TX that sold Eb clarinets that came apart in the middle.

Just to reiterate:
