How Debussy's Première Rhapsodie was originally played

On the French Classical music radio station: France Musique, I heard that the version for clarinet and orchestra of Debussy's Première Rhapsodie was premiered with the clarinetist- soloist seated in the orchestra in his usual position. In other words, like a long clarinet solo in a symphonic work. The piece was played this way a few years back with Pascal Moraguès and the Orchestre de Paris. The original version is, of course for clarinet and piano, but Debussy thought highly enough of his work to orchestrate the piano part one year after it was premiered as a "morceau de concours" of the Paris Conservatory.

Has anybody heard this piece played as I have described; as a very long solo in an orchestral piece with the clarinet solo playing it from his usual seated position in the orchestra?

I've only seen it done in Philadelphia with the clarinetist out front as soloist.

It was also played by Vladimir Krasavin, with Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra under famous soviet-era conductor Yevgeny Mravinsky.
There is a recording on youtube, but of course only the audio part, probably made during a concert.
The recording does not say who the soloist is. Vladimir Krasavin, who was the principal clarinet at the time, told me that he had performed it with the orchestra.
I don't know if it was performed from the usual clarinet sitting position or in front of the orchestra- I would think later.
