Really more Bonade like in its architecture. The plate that holds the reed features parallel vertical contact points. Unfortunately it is much like the M/O in fragility as well. Not for those who need or prefer holding the reed on tightly........they break.

And not so good if you need to switch instruments quickly, (as in some orchestral repertoire) if your mouthpiece fits snugly. It will likely come off. I discovered that when I had to buy a new mouthpiece. It fit more tightly than my previous one, and the Brancher was not up to the task.

Love mine, 'jewellery' style. Unfortunately don't seem to be able to get them round here any more and I'm down to my last (as Paul said they are a bit fragile and hard to solder back accurately once one 'band' unsolders itself). Am fortunate that I can change instruments at the barrel level. Have not tried the newer 'semi rigid' ones.
