I just received the Behn Prescott and I like what I have experienced so far. But I was surprised to find my go-to ligatures don't fit. I have a Vandoren Optimum, M/O and the Rovner P1-R Gold that I won in a raffle, plus the basic Rovner Dark. The only ones that fit are the Rovners. I like the sound best so far with the Gold-plated one but I have never cared for the bulkiness of that ligature and the placement of all that metal on the chin-side.
What metal ligatures do you use with the Behn mouthpieces, which I guess are larger around the middle than many others? Or at least this one is! Because I'm lazy I prefer single screw models. LOL

Inverse Bonades and the Baroque Bay ligatures (both rhodium and gold) fit easily on the Prescott. The Ishimori metal models and Ligaphone ligatures do too. Behn himself recommends both Ishimori and Bay and used to sell them on his website. I have a new "Platinum Noir" Bonade ligature from RDG Woodwinds in Los Angeles that is a perfect match in every way for the Prescott.

The slightly larger profile actually makes my BG duo fit better. For those who don’t know, the BG duo can be used on clarinet and alto sax mouthpieces.

Please know that I designed PRESCOTT mouthpieces with a larger body and proper geometry to help enable ALL ligatures to fit with improved security. That said, I also add a .3mm thick clear patch material on the back of the body of the mouthpiece to help prevent unfortunate ligature scratches. This additional material increases circumference so that you'll likely have to back open your preferred ligature screws to enable proper fitment.
You can always remove the logo patch to enable a smaller ligature's fit.
Please also know that we are in process developing a ligature family designed to fit all standard mouthpiece shapes and sizes. Obviously that will include BEHN mouthpieces as well as PRESCOTT.

I took the 0.3mm clear patch material on the back of my Prescott to be a generous gift of additional mouthpiece patch material, to stop teeth marks on the beak! Enough for at least a couple of extra patches. I’ll have to put it back now and buy some patches. Awh.
Might have been an idea to include some sort of notes with the Prescott. Mine just came in a tube with nothing else, apart from the invoice. I think we all like a few notes with the accessories we buy. Helps give the impression the purchase was a good idea and supports the product.

I am proud to offer personal service to my clientele and welcome your contacting me direct to discuss anything you've got on mind. I thought in providing the patch material it was obvious as to the purpose but perhaps more information is beneficial. Please know that the plastic tube is something I'm quite pleased with as it serves as a high quality and functional storage vessel which should last a lifetime. The tube protects your mouthpiece very well. I keep spare mouthpieces in those tubes in my clarinet 'bag" at all times, they rattle around in the pocket and never get damaged. Much better than the cardboard boxes I think Just make sure to store the mouthpiece in the tube when dry...don't place a moist mouthpiece in there as it'll get nasty. Also regarding the patch material, yes you certainly can treat it as a bonus and save the extra body-patch for your beak when needed...that's a good idea!

Thanks Brad, certainly approve of the tube for storage and transport. Great idea. The tube I got with a Backun Vocalise was enormous, big enough for a bass mouthpiece but far too big for a soprano. Wouldn’t want more of those in my drawer. Maybe they do one size fits all, but yours is just right. Wouldn’t want anything bigger. You could probably sell those.
