Hi,
I was until recently a longtime user of Gonzalez GD reeds, which I enjoyed for the depth and richness of their tone. Unfortunately, they have gone a little downhill in the past few years, and I'm looking for an alternative.
Any recommendations for something similar?

I would suggest that Vandoren V12 and Leuthner French Cut are similar reeds, but my Gonzalez GD experience is limited to only one box of strength 3.5 (2006 harvest).

I played the Gonzalez GD (#3) for a couple of years and switched to Pilgerstorfer Dolce (#4) and Exquisit (1.5,2). I also liked the Rico/D’addario Reserve (not Classic) #3.
I think all of these have similar qualities: lively response, nice sound and even performance across octaves and dynamics.
If you liked the GDs, these might be worth a try.
Good luck!

Hi Adam, I'm Emiliano, a representative of Gonzalez Reeds in this forum, and also new at Woodwind.org. I would like to know more about your experience with our GD reeds. Are you interested in having a conversation through email or whatsapp?
Have a nice day!
