Anyone played a Meyer on their sticks? I'm currently playing a Vandoren 5JB and like it a lot. But I played a Meyer on alto sax for many years and always considered Meyers the pick of the litter. I'm wondering if a Meyer clarinet piece might be worth a look.

I have one: a 4MM that I acquired by coincident. I don't like it at all. I much more prefer the 5JB (for jazz). The Meyers are not wide spread around here (Holland) and I don't know any other player that uses a Meyer mpc on clarinet.
However Jan Morks seemed to have played a Meyer, here is an example of how he sounded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU-1iGquLYk

Thanks Jeroen. On that youtube piece I find it hard to judge the quality of the tone due to the heavy vibrato. Does seem to be somewhat "spread" though, and lacking in a solid core. And on the basis of what I hear I would not be interested in investigating Meyer pieces on clarinet. At this point in my playing I don't think anything will replace my 5JB. I will continue to use a Meyer on alto sax though.
