I am currently doing research on Hans Rudolf Stalder. Can anyone suggest an information source where I can find out more about him?
Thanks

Go to the library and ask any librarian where their copy of Groves and Baker's is (in the reference section of the library).

Hans-Rudolf Stalder (note the hyphen) is a really excellent player. He has a beautiful, ringing tone that carries easily throughout the largest concert halls, has a big technique and is a superior musician.
He was principal clarinet in the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra for a number of years, but may have left, because I have also read that he teaches at the Musik-Akademie in Basel. You might try contacting both organizations.
His agent has an e-mail address at stalder@heiniger.com. They will have biographical materials.
An Alta Vista search on "Hans Rudolf Stalder" (including the quotes) brings up some 30 responses, most of which are radio program listings, but several of which are of his students who have web sites. You could certainly get good information from them.
Another source is Michael Bryant, who is listed on Sneezy. Michael knows more about European clarinetists and recordings than the rest of us put together, and he's always happy to help.
Good luck.
