Hello there,
i have in my possesion a beautiful and really old (i think) buffet crampon albert system clarinet fully overhauled and i want to find when it dates. I can't find a serial number on it and i am wondering why..I have another Bb which dates to 1912 and an A which dates to 1903 and i am searching for more info on this one.
Any information will be very helpfull
Greg

If it doesn't have a serial number it predates 1885 which is the year Buffet started to seralize their instruments. It was most likely made in the late 1870s or early 1880s based off of the design.

Thanks a lot for the quich reply Jdbassplayer
All the serial number charts that i find for Buffet start in 1885 so the first thought that i made was that the clarinet dates before 1885. I wasn't sure that the clarinets before 1885 doesn't have a serial number.

The bell has the logo that you can see in the photo. Has anyone seen this logo before? The repairman told me that these are the initials of Buffet ''BC''.
What are your thoughts?
