Looking for a book of scales, etudes, exercises that make full use of the lower range of the low-c bass clarinet. Last search on the board I found was from 2005. Will appreciate any suggestions!

These were recommended in another thread I recently saw:
"Pedro Rubio “Studies for bass clarinet” vols. 1&2, Sauro Berti “Venti Studi”, Maurice Verheul “Bass Clarinet Project Studies”, Roger Purcell “Low Down Jazz”, Kenny Berger “Ten Contemporary Etudes for Bass Clarinet with Extended Range”, Jim Marshall “Modern Etudes”, Lenny Sayers “Symphonic studies for bass clarinet”, Andrew Sprung’s adaptation of the Baermann, Martin Arnold’s extended range scale book, and Jean-Marc Volta’s method."
The Baermann "Complete Method for Clarinet Part 3, Op 63," adapted to Low C by Dr. Andrew Spring and sold by Alea music, has been quite useful for my studies.
They also sell the Bach Cello Suites transposed for Bb instrument as well.

Thanks, Tim, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Especially the Baermann looks great; I've been using the Bb version & trying to intuit what it would work like on a low C bass, but it's tough sledding. Appreciate it your response!

I used the orignal Bach cello suits to learn and teach the bass clef as well as musicial reasons.

Thanks for the referral to the Sprung book. I have the Arnold book and it's quite good but it doesn't go into the upper registers.

Ed, I have the Bach Suites for cello as well. You are correct that they are an excellent way to learn to read bass clef. Could you say more about the "musical reasons" you allude to in your post?
Playing the suites as written in bass clef without transposition, uses the low C of the bass clarinet instead of the low D as lowest note, and seems to resonate better, at least on my instrument...

I have a copy of the cello suites that is literally falling apart, it's so well used. Was never that much fun to play on a low-Eb instrument, because you'd have to come up with alternate notes in-range instead of the written notes. Now that I have a low-C instrument, it's a blast.
