Does anyone have any suggestions for a short unaccompanied clarinet piece
for a Christmas Church service?
Thanks

How about the Carol from FInzi's Five Bagatelles?

I've had some success with "Angels We Have Heard on High" during quiet time in Christmas services. It has the benefit of being a very familiar tune for most people in the congregation.
If you look on YouTube you'll find some samples and sheet music. It's an easy tune that can be played in multiple registers. For example:

First I am no professional player.
I do practice and play clarinet (to myself until now) for my hobby and pastime after my retirement. Upon some friends' suggestion, last week I became an accidental You tuber and posted my 1st, and 2nd. And one of them, happened to be Christmas song medley with no accompaniment. Hope this gives some idea to you.

BTW, forgot to mention that the recording of songs is through my cell phone.

Bobw,

What type of music are you looking for...straight-up old-time hymns, or classical music?

For hymns, (as PaulIsaac mentioned) Angels We Have Heard on High is a good one. What Child Is This?, Oh! Little Town of Bethlehem, Away in a Manger, etc. (Pretty much any hymn recorded by Bing Crosby will be well-known) O Come All Ye Faithful, et al.

If there is a choir that is already going to sing some of the favorites, you might delve into international carols: Italy, Spain/Basque, Caribbean. Something catchy and fun to listen to even if the melody is not familiar
