He plays a Selmer Improved model Albert System clarinet and he's using a old Selmer Magnitone ligature. Those ligatures show up for sale from time to time on the famous internet auction site. Selmer used to package the Magnitone in a pyramid shaped cardboard container. George Bundy received a patent on this ligature. For photos and more, google search The Selmer Magni-tone Ligature The Bassic Sax Blog. As this article shows, once in a while someone will sell one still mysteriously entombed in the original package. Christopher has played a very open "Model EC" mouthpiece made by Vytas Krass but I don't know which mouthpiece he's using in this clip.

What? No mention of his use of another reed to wipe the spittle between his reed and mouthpiece, OR his use of a Neumann TLM 103 large diaphragm condenser?!!? I have to say, that mic was a good portion of the nice sound in this clip (along with good engineering).

I guess I was just being a bit of a noodge. There are a number of really decent mics from Neumann, Schoeps and Telefunken for a better woodwind sound reproduction BUT they (and associated interfaces and electronics) require far more knowledge and experience to use properly than would be practical for those of us spending all our time practicing!
I currently have one foot stuck in each discipline and I can say that when one requires attention, the other suffers mightily.
