Hi Forum,
Could you give me a quick feedback on the playability of the passage in the attachment?
The tempo is fast, quarter @ 150 and it's right in the throat tone region.
Thanks and happy Thanksgiving

Very playable. Was taking a practice break so I had my clarinet handy to confirm.
The question is, playable by whom, how well, and with how much work? Shouldn't be a problem for a pro at that tempo.

I agree that as throat register and left hand coordination and dexterity passages go, this one is not all that hard. It is certainly playable. If you're having trouble with it, that may be a sign that you need to practice more passages like this in your daily routine. Two fine technical study books that give plenty of practice in this kind of difficulty are Eric Mandat's "Finger Food" and Kal Opperman's "Modern Studies, Book I." Practice the relevant studies in these books every day, and before long many passages like this will be routine and "all in a day's work." Van Cott Music, a sponsor of this list, sells both these books at a reasonable price.
