Are these any good? I'm following one that ends soon on "that selling site" - it is practically new but I'd appreciate members comments on quality before I bid.

It’s a solid instrument.
How does it compare to a professional horn? It doesn’t. But in the grand scheme of things it’s a solid instrument. $1800 new.

I played on 2 Selmer bass clarinets with the low C extension in college. Both were great instruments and made of wood. The female clarinet professor said that a Buffet compatible bass would play well just like a Buffet Bb. Is there really good tone quality on bass clarinet

Yamaha 221 = $1800.
Buffet Prestige = $12,000.
Selmer Privilege = $14,000.
The price disparity is so huge it’s not even worth mentioning the pro models next to the 221.
