The issue is I don't own a bass mouthpiece and was wondering whether the baritone sax, tenor sax or alto sax mouthpieces I have would be a temporary alternative for playtesting purposes?

I'd think no because a sax MP goes onto the neck while bass clarinet MP inserts into the neck of a bass clarinet.

No. For the reasons m1964 gave and also because, even if you were able to affix the mouthpiece securely the internal dimensions of the chamber are all wrong. Just get a Fobes Debut.

You probably should get someone else to play test it.
