Saw this recently while sniffing around that infernal auction site and came across this - what is it , a fake chinese or some east european mutant or could it be a BC experiment ??

The only missing is white mouthpiece. Could have been an experiment by Buffet or Schreiber.
But the asking price?!

1.7K€ or almost 1.9K$ (that's alot it seems to me) with the remark "Super rare clarinet Buffet Crampon B12 in white material from 90’s. It seems that this is an experiment carried out in the Buffet factory in Germany." location of sale is Spain.

Maybe they think collectors will be beating down the door for this?

I saw a clear plastic Buffet many years ago.

The clear plastic b12 is a limited quantity anniversary celebrating clarinet. Was told by someone who works at buffet to buy one if I ever see one and can afford it (and it isn't super overpriced). Plays better than you'd think.

I believe this is one of the clear Buffets...impressed by the playing, but not by the sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qS7Erq82pU

Clear as in transparent ?? I can't imagine that would be a pretty sight with all the condensation and drool in the tube ! Now a highly decorated hand-cut crystal body with lots of facets and bling... bet nobody ever tried that. (I've seen some pretty over-the-top Tex-Mex brass bells and barrels 'tho)

Giora Fiedman used to play a clear B12.

I didn't know Schreiber made white plastic B12s. The keywork and case are definitely from the '90s as the case lining (if it is the original case) is burgundy. They changed the case fabric to a greeny-grey colour when the B&H Group became 'The Music Group'.

I know it's a limited edition as were the clear perspex ones, but they're not really worth as much as they say they are as they are after all, B12s. Vito Dazzlers in all manner of colours don't fetch those sort of prices and they'd be in the same price bracket if bought new.
