 New Vintage 1940 Cicero mouthpiece
Author: Paul Globus

Just tried a couple of the new Vintage 1940 Cicero mouthpieces from Bob Bernardo and I'm delighted to say they are truly wonderful. I don't remember playing on a mouthpiece that felt this good and sounded this great.

I understand that Bob spent years working on the design of the Vintage 1940 Cicero mouthpiece, basing everything on Chedeville and Kaspar mouthpieces that once belonged to two of his teachers / mentors, Iggy Gennusa and Robert Marcellus. The man really knows his stuff because the result of all that work is out of this world, in my opinion.

If you're in the market for a new mouthpiece, do yourself a favor and check them out.

I’ve switched to his new mouthpiece and I couldn’t be happier. The sound is very resonant, and sounds very warm in a large space. Not to mention it’s very easy to play, requiring no real embouchure pressure. Perfect for double lip playing. It’s also very Legere friendly!

Can't wait to get my hands on one! The trouble is that things sent to me from the US get stuck in customs here in Europe.

Hi Ruben, let me worry about Customs. I usually ship mouthpieces to S. Korea in 4 days sometimes. Australia in 7 days. Europe in 7 days usually. Even Russia, Chili, pretty much everywhere within 10 or less days. I better not say too much here, with respect to fellow mouthpiece makers. I don't want to pitch my products. But I do ship everywhere. Well not Mars! I needed to correct this minor issue about Customs. I know what shipping companies to use based of the country.

Here's the website:

https://lavecchiamouthpieces.com/vintage-1940-cicero-mouthpiece/

You can contact Bob Bernardo by email any time. He's a real gentleman and extremely knowledgeable about mouthpieces, reeds, instruments, you name it. He's also friendly and approachable.
