Does anyone know where I could buy a double case to hold a Buffet b-flat clarinet and e-flat clarinet?
Thanks for any info you can provide.

If you are stuck, I have known of some people who have taken Bb/A cases and modified the A slot to put an Eb in its place. You could get a Wiseman, but they are really pricey. You could also consider http://mbcases.com.br/en/products/double-case-for-clarinet-and-eb-clarinet/

While we're at it, does there exist a triple case: B flat, A and C? I would love to have everything in the same case (plus a good sandwich). A case study is called for! ha ha.

This is my second posting mentioning Reed and Squeak cases today! I have no vested interest, but it happens I’ve been using one of their compact double cases for Bb and Eb for the last couple of years, and it works very well. The different sections of the instruments are held in channels in the case, with movable padded spacers so you can configure it in different ways. There’s also plenty of space for accessories, multiple barrels, music etc. They also make a compact triple where the same rules apply - see http://reedandsqueakcases.com/shop/compact-triple-case-1

If you’ve got a healthy bank balance it’s worth looking at Wiseman cases too.

I have the Reed and Squeak triple case, in the eco-leather version. I bought it to hold Bb, A and C clarinets. I haven’t been to get those three in, there just isn’t room for the C, but I think you could get Bb, A and Eb in it (I don’t have an Eb).
I’ve also had a problem with the quality of that case. The material/leather at the side of the lid of the case came away from the zip. It looks as if they tried to skimp on the amount of material so it was hardly stitched to the zip. As for the ‘leather’ it’s really wafer thin with a backing fabric of some sort. Unfortunately, this problem arose outside their rather short warranty period, though I hadn’t actually used the case very much.
I had intended to put a review on the Reed and Squeak website. However, if you look at the ‘review’ section of the website it doesn’t allow customers to put anything. All that’s there is a lot of photos of top UK players with some of them commenting favourably on their cases.

Mine’s the standard fabric finished case which has been in daily use for a couple of years - perhaps more robust than the leather.

Topic: A Solution For Bb/Eb Case

I recently talked to Fred Jacobowitz in Raleigh, NC, who has a business called Case-Closed that specializes in musical instrument case repairs, new case builds, and case customizing. I informed him that I wanted to have him convert a brand new Pro-Tec double clarinet case that was originally designed for Bb/A clarinets and have him convert it to a Bb/Eb case. He did a fantastic job of just removing the A clarinet slots and used two new pieces of Styrofoam to custom carve the slots for my Eb clarinet, including the specifications that I sent him to include spaces for a Morrie Backun Eb barrel and the Clark Fobes Eb extension. He was extremely reasonable in pricing it, was very thorough in communicating with me, and provided a quick turn around!

If interested, you can contact Fred at: www.case-closed.us

I have included a photo of his work on my case and I am a very satisfied customer!

BG-Thanks for the info about case closed. That sounds like what I will do, but I could not access the photo you uploaded. It was unclickable. Would you please reload it? Thank you.
