I want to buy a clarinet, but since I am a student and using my own money to purchase, I don't have a lot of budget, so I'm looking at the intermediate ones. Now there's two offer: one is the Yamaha YCL450, and one is the Buffet E12f. I never played E12f before, so I'm not sure which one is better. Two friends of mine both sell it to me with a cheaper price comparing to the market price, and I could not choose.

The student model Yamahas are head and shoulders over the Buffets.

Play them both and see which you like better.
In my experience, intermediate Buffet clarinets suck, and the Yamaha ones are usually much better.

The E12F can be good but sometimes not. The Yamaha is almost always good straight out of the box. Personally I'd buy the Yamaha as Yamaha's build quality is so much better than Buffet's.
