Hello. I am looking at a clarinet that is an unmarked wood one. It's possible it's a Buffet but all I have is a serial number to go off of. The serial number is 983313 It does not have a fixed thumb rest that some of the older R 13 clarinets have. Trying to purchase a good older wood clarinet for my son that will be heading off to college in a year as a step up from his student model Yamaha 250. If this purchase doesn't work out any advice on a great wood clarinet that wont break the bank so to speak would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

Thank you so much. I truly appreciate your help. What should I expect to pay for it and is it a good clarinet or are there others that I should be looking at? I don't want to go broke but would like to send him off to college next year with a better clarinet. Not sure if he'll be doing just marching band or orchestra as well. Thank you again.
