 Leblanc contra alto lowest notes

Hello,
I have started playing an elderly Leblanc Contra Alto (straight not paper clip) with 423 engraved on the mouthpiece joint. It is owned by my clarinet choir.

I am having trouble with the lowest notes. I’m not sure whether it is the instrument or my technique which is making me unsure?

My problem is, with opened pads specified from the bottom

All pads closed D
One open Eb
Two open F
Three open F#

Cannot find E

Suggestions welcome

P

hi, I think your intonation is too low.
so D must be Eb and Eb must be E.
also possible that the keys of Eb and E are too closed.
But Eb E and F are always a little bit too low

Many thanks. I believe that you are correct.
