Does anyone know of duets for clarinet and viola ONLY?
Please, no piano trios, etc., just the two instruments above.
Thanks

Elaine Fine; 3 Character Pieces (and One Transcription) for Clarinet & Viola. Her website: https://musicalassumptions.blogspot.com
She is a viola player and has other pieces that may interest you as well. Good luck!

I'll second this: a fine, lovely piece of music.

There exists a Gordon Jacob duet: not bad, but no masterpiece. I've done the Poulenc duet duet for two clarinets with the viola doing the A clarinet part; works really well.

Duo for clarinet and viola by Nicolai Berezowski: a good 20th century piece by a forgotten, but interesting, Russian-American composer.

Thanks a lot to everyone who replied to my post.
I will look into getting the music-probably easier than persuading my wife to practice more - she plays viola but her day job is not in music, and is very time-consuming.

The Elaine Fine piece(s) are easier than some of the other recommendations. Your last statement suggests your playing partner may not have time to work up difficult things.
My viola partner found the Rebecca Clark piece too difficult, but did OK with E. Fine.
I forgot to mention that the E. Fine clarinet part uses B-flat for the 1st & 3rd mvmt & A Clarinet for the 2nd & 4th mvmt (if it makes a difference for you).
