I want something that has same profile as Legere European cut, but made by cane.
Any recommendations?
Thanks,

I don't think you can realistically hope to find a cane reed with a profile that duplicates Légère's. The synthetic material doesn't behave the way cane does, and the "cut" is designed to get a result from it that gets as close as possible to the *result* - the feel, response and sound - of high quality cane reeds. I suspect if you found a reed made from as thin a cane blank as Légères with as flexible a tip and the same taper both side-to-side and shoulder-to-tip as you get in a Légère, you might well find the reed unplayable.
What you probably want, or at least *should* be looking for, is a cane reed that responds the way you feel a Légère does on your mouthpiece. That, of course, depends on what mouthpiece you use. What strength Légère are you currently using?

I assume the poster is looking for a "wider" reed, perhaps to cover a rather wide window.
but........
I agree with KDKs assessment of why the Euopean Signatures are the dimensions they are.

Over many years I have measured the slopes nearly 30 reed types/brands at 13 points, every 10th of an inch, tip to bark. By comparing them to the Leger European Signature reeds, none come close for the full slope because the thicker half of the slope is very thin on the Legers. No cane reed that measures near the same as the Legers would play very well.
Pilgerstorfer Dolces and Steuer Classics measure close for the thin half of the slope, and like mentioned above, Soprano saxophone reeds have a thinner heavy end of the slope.
So, profile isn't what you are looking for, it is feel, response and comfort. If you let us know what mouthpiece and facing you use, possibly someone can give good suggestions on what reed is similar.

Thank you for all replies.
Now, I'm using Licostinni mouthpiece FDC with Legere European Cut #4.0 and GF ligature.
On one website said it has 19 mm length with 1.07 tip opening, but not sure because it's a handmade mouthpiece and I selected it from about 6 same models which is completely different.
I got it from dealers in Singapore they have no idea about the facicing and I don't have a measuring tool.
I tried all of Vandoren's models reed including V12, Traditional, 56, V21.
But, never tried others brands.
I found the traditional ones is the best above, but the Legere is far more better.
More even, beter response and many many better things.
The reasons why I want to use cane reed because my teacher prefer cane more than synthetic he won't happy if I walk in his room with Legere.
And also I still love the warm feeling from cane.
Thanks,
Kita

He said something like synthetic reed is more easier, but from than easiness it will make some bad habit and the cane reed has more harmonics than the synthetic one.
Actually, sometimes I used it but he doesn't know and the feedback is mostly in positive ways.
I make some blind test for my friends and colleagues the feedback is good about 8 out of 10 choose the synthetic one.

Since the reed and the mouthpiece are a 'marriage', the facing and slope need to work together, I believe the best way to fix a mouthpiece/reed puzzle is to select the best reed - best long lasting and responsive cane, most consistent cut - and find a mouthpiece that works best with the reed.
When you consistently find 8 good reeds out of 10 in a box, you will always be a happy clarinet player.

The Vandoren reeds you tried are wonderful reeds.
The #4 Legere European Signature is very VERY stiff. I have a very small opening on my mouthpiece (1.00mm) and yet I use a #3 1/2 Legere European Signature reed.
But here is what I think is happening. You like the up close sound which doesn't have any upper partials in it at all which can make you think that is a "dark" sound. What you are getting is a tubby, diffuse sound that won't project no matter how hard you work. If your teacher can play a few notes for you in the room with you during your next lesson, that should give you a better idea of what a clarinet up close should sound like.
I'm also guessing he wants to break you of the plastic reeds in order to get a more clear, projecting sound out of you. Of course he is missing out on a great reed in the Legere if he hasn't tried them yet (finding the right strength of course).
My recommendation would be to listen to your teacher and use a softer cane reed for awhile. You are most likely working WAY too hard and not getting the results you deserve for your effort. In a year or so you can go back to Legere and find the appropriate strength once you have the right sound in your head and the right feel in your embouchure for what really works.

I didn't actually mean to ask why he doesn't like Legeres or why he prefers cane. I meant to ask if he has made a suggestion about what cane reeds to use. What does he use? What is available where you are studying - understanding that if it's somewhere other than the U.S. shipping charges or government taxes for online purchases may be high.
