 Clarinet mouth piece advice
Author: Sammaz862

Hello!

I have just acquired a new buffet e11. Just wondering whether you would look at upgrading this mouth piece at some point, or if it is fine the way it is. I have a vandoren m13 lyre that I used with my previous instrument. I had never thought about mouthpiece chances until I had to because my original one got damaged, so I really have no idea.

I would suggest continuing to use your M13 Lyre on your new E11--or, if your M13 Lyre is now damaged, obtain a replacement M13 Lyre.

The mouthpiece that comes with an E11 represents a huge downgrade from an M13 Lyre. Don't bother using it.

After you've become intimately familiar with the virtues and faults of your new E11 using a mouthpiece that you're already intimately familiar with, then perhaps a mouthpiece change could be in order.

Don't subject yourself to the mental commotion of making several equipment changes all at once. Change one thing at a time, carefully evaluate the results, and then go from there.
