Kia ora,
Has anyone had problems with a Tosca case (either single or double) not closing properly... And did the problem resolve itself with time? (a student has just bought a new tosca and one of the latches doesn't work - appears to be caused by the case not closing)
Thanks dn

Asking the obvious question but did you try to close without the clarinet in it?

Thanks, but that wasn't the problem (the clarinet preventing it from closing).

A friend’s Tosca bass case had the same problem, which resulted in him picking up the case and spilling the brand new instrument onto the floor. After contacting Buffet, they repaired the instrument & supplied a new case (via the retailer it was purchased from I believe).

The last Tosca I saw came in a plastic case which, considering the cost of the thing, was really cheap and nasty looking. For that price you'd expect a wooden case with a case cover (like an oboe case) which is what they used to be supplied in.
