Does anyone here have any experience with pre series 9 (ie:p series) selmer bass clarinets?

I'm not sure when the 9 series came out but my bass was purchased in 1965, I believe it's the first low C model they produced. I've used it all my professional life from that day on, had a low Eb before that. . Made a few adjustments and some small tuning modifications and love it.

I've only seen a few CT-era basses to low E and Eb, but unfortunately never any built to low C as it would be good to see what the lower joint keywork configuration is like on them.

I'm guessing as the Series 9 followed, the low D, Db and C on earlier low C models aren't linked to the rest of the mechanism like the Series 9 basses, so you'll have to hold down the low Eb key to get those notes as well as there being no LH low D lever (just the three thumb keys for D, Db and C).

Chris.
