Quality Selmer Clarinet Case recomendations please

Hi , can anyone give me some advice on a clarinet cases .

I have a pair of Selmer Clarinets in a double case but am looking to sell one ( a recital ) but need a quality case to go with it .

Can anyone recommend one , I have tried to source a original Selmer case but they are very expensive .

Would not having a original selmer case detract alot from its value?

Thanks

No - there are far better clarinet cases than the ones that are supplied with Selmers as Selmer cases are some of the worst.

A Yamaha case will be much better for the clarinet, so look for the kind of case supplied with the YCL-650 or Custom series clarinets.

I have found the Protec Max to be nice, compact cases, and they have a little more storage inside than the case that came with my Yamaha Custom

Just bought a brand new Signature and the case is indeed a disappointment, to put it politely.

- almost no room for extra's like reeds,
- carrying it with the handle which is located at the left side it cannot be put down stable because it will rest on a ridge, no feet,
- worst: the bell cannot be put in the case without being mounted on the bottom half of the clarinet, degrading the cork and not allowing the joint to dry.

It's a shame with such a fine instrument, especially give the price. I've decided to buy a Protec LX307, which will arrive next week.

(On the good side: I got a 'Focus' mouthpiece with it, which appeared to be very useable for me).
