But now I'm curious! Are you building your own contrabass? Did you find an instrument and are trying to confirm it is in BBb?

I don't have a 7182, but I do have a 342 straight metal contrabass that I could measure if that would work.

i was going to, but i realized that all the 3d printers available to me are too small for that and i also can't think of how i would make keys for it

It's not a contrabass clarinet, but it looks like a great DIY project. Maybe you could even make a version that uses a single reed mouthpiece if you're feeling crafty.
