R13 with separate UK stamped on it

Can anyone throw any light on why my R13 has a UK stamped impression on it below the BC and Made in France inscription?

It's the model made for the UK market - probably has a slightly longer barrel and other tuning work done to make it play better at 440Hz instead of 442Hz.

The S1 and RC were also offered in the UK form - not sure about the BC20 as I haven't seen any of them with the UK stamp.
