What do you guys think of preparatory and pre-college classes at different music colleges? Are they very helpful? Should you go?

Thats a pretty general question! I can assume you don't live in Australia, but the CSM (ANU) has a pretty good prep course. The other thing is first of all you can't just assume that you'll get in. (sorry, don't mean to sound harsh). Overall it depends what you want to do, obviously, and whether you're particular music school has a good course

I just got accepted into the prep program at the manhattan school of music. i know someone who goes there already, and he absolutely loves it...he's also a very good composer/alto saxaphonist, too...it's a great program. my teacher in school thinks it's great, at least...and she's pretty good.
