Hello all-
New to the BBoard- but played a long time! Wondering if there is anyone out there who studied with Jim Fleisher at Emporia State University in Kansas. Or maybe even played along side him somewhere- He used to play the New Hampshire Music Festival every summer.
Thanks for any memories you might share. He was awesome!

Jim was a truly awesome clarinetist and a great role model for me at the Eastman School of Music. He was in graduate school when I began my studies there in 1963. Jim was a tremendous clarinetist and that year he was the Principal clarinetist in the Eastman School of Music. As a freshman, I had the great priviledge to play in that ensemble on the contra alto, and contra bass clarinet and listen to a true master of the clarinet! Jim was a patient and respectful leader, never said a harsh word and always sounded beautiful. During that time, he played a crystal mouthpiece and made the clarinet sing!

Awesome- thanks for sharing. I had forgotten he had been at Eastman! He continued that legacy on clarinet until he passed away!
An incredible teacher of clarinet and life!
