I have been doing some research into a performance I shall be doing of the Muczynski Time Pieces which I am finding both very enjoyable and satisfying to play.
Also what has been of interest has been the essay written by Albert Rice in his book - Notes for clarinettists which is very compelling.
I have also learned that Charles West wrote a masterclass article around the performance of this work for the ICA. Unfortunately I am not able to access a copy of the article.
Has anyone have a copy of the article or signpost me how I could access it.
Thanks for any help.

Andrew,
Time Pieces was written for clarinetist Mitchell Lurie who recorded it in 1994 on the Crystal Records CD 732 (ASIN B00005402), which is still available (on Amazon, for instance). Just get a copy and listen to Lurie play it. His performance is likely very close to the composer's intentions.

Another difficulty in reaching the composer is that he's been dead for almost a decade. Best of luck in your research. I thought your question was reasonably clear if read sensibly.
You might find this of some interest:

The author discusses the Time Pieces briefly and analyzes the Fantasy Trio in more depth. Some of this may bring you some insight. I'm sure someone must have also written a thesis or dissertation that goes further into the Time Pieces specifically.

For another analysis of the Time Pieces see

The essay recommended by nellsonic also discusses some other clarinet works that are not played as often as they deserve. One is Stephen Danker's Trio. Danker was composer in residence of the Louisiana Philharmonic about 15 years ago. His clarinet trio has been recorded by Steve Cohen.

Thank you for the replies which has turned up some really good material to read through and research. It is all very helpful.
The recording which Lurie and Muczynski have also helped in opening up my ideas around interpretation.
I am still curious to read Charles West’s masterclass article from the Clarinet Journal, which was written shortly after the work was premiered in London in 1984.
If anyone has an idea around how to access it please let me know.
Many thanks.” For peoples advice!”.
