Well I just bought a used Wood Clarinet off Craigslist.
It plays pretty nice but the previous Owner I think had not played in years and the clarinet reminded entombed in the case :(
Anyhow its got the Funk smell.
Not the worst maybe a 5!
I swabbed the inside with Hydrogen peroxide and the outside I cleaned with some Olive Oil which helped some
I realize the pads could be an issue, but at this point thy are certainly not new, but do have some life left in them.
Gonna lose the case and get a new one
Suggestions?

You're going to have to bite the bullet and get rid of the pads and corks. They are major reservoirs of funk smell. Olive oil can be a bit of a problem as it does tend to rancify after a while. I use almond oil with a 5 % addition of methylated spirit to aid in penetration and I've never had a problem with it.
