Happy Thanksgiving y'all, I'm trolling the 'net for black Friday deals on accessories. I like a pretty open mouthpiece such as a Vandoren 5RV Lyre or M30 Lyre. My fave mouthpiece is my old Selmer HS**. Any recommendations for ligatures that pair well with these? I play a pre-R13 (1953 Buffet). I generally use a Mitchell Lurie 3 or a Vandoren 2.5-3 but can adapt to whatever reed is appropriate for the rest of my setup. I play in symphonic bands or on my own, no orchestra or jazz etc. I like a dark, rich "English" sound. Thank you.

Rovner ligatures I think are the best for adding weight and darkness to the sound. I’m using a Rovner Versa with flap over the metal with great results. I also have a Rovner dark that makes the sound even more weighty and dark. I’d also recommend looking at the Rovner MK iii.
Keep in mind the differences are super subtle.

As fernie121 says, the differences are subtle. My equipment is almost identical to yours. Buffet R13 (1999), VanD 5RV mouthpiece, VanD 2.5 reeds (I went through a time using Mitchell Lurie 3s). And yes, I used to play a Selmer HS** MP way back when.
I've used the same Bonade ligature for decades, but have tried many types--plastic, screws on top instead of on reed, various other metal ones, even the Benny Goodman "bolt"--can't remember them all. Leon Russianoff had me experimenting with string & wax--which played fine, but kinda fussy to deal with.
I just don't think the ligature makes much of a difference.

Best thing to do is to try as many as you can. From friends or a store. That's the only way you can find the perfect fit for you with any clarinet accessory.
