PSA: Free Baermann and other PDFs
Author: Dmax

This may be old news to you guys but I found a source of free downloads that can be viewed on a computer. I suspect printing might pose copyright issues but I view on my iPad so have a clear conscience. (Luckily I have a 12” screen that I needed for my last job.)

I’m sure the library is limited but I found 4 items yesterday. Use the search box.

Firstly I would say that there is no substitute for having a printed book in front of you on a stand. Last time I checked it was only about $15 (US) for book III (the heart of it) on Amazon (the Carl Fischer edition).

The other argument for paying your fair share (no personal animosity meant specifically toward the poster) is to keep printed music companies in business.

"Torrenting" has decimated the recorded music industry and is doing a number on the movie industry as well. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you should.

No one is making a killing selling printed music, and no one is going broke buying easy to use and easy to archive printed music.

I agree completely. I have bought well over 2 thousand dollars on sheet music (RIP Patelson’s In NYC) and books which are buried in my parents deep storage (attic). I will find them in the next month or year or so but in the meantime I have something to use.

The files are from the Eastman School site, not personal file sharing (theft). I have always paid for music and media.

If it makes you feel better, this edition is entirely in the public domain (published in 1917) so it is legal to download or print as many copies as you wish.

There's lots more music on Internet, including the free music site of the Los Angeles Clarinet Institute and this https://musopen.org and two ample volumes of free Latino Choros on Slideshare.net under the tags "Songbook choro Vol 1 and 2."

Having a digitized library is a great thing also. I do prefer the printed page, but having it digitally is also great - not a substitute though......

It's like having a digital book compared to the printed version.
