In your opinion what is your favourite make/model of clarinet and why?
My preference is a wooden B&H Regent from the 1955 (not mazak keys) its my go to and to play if feels friendly to play, likely as some of the keys are extremely worn, hard to explain really it responds easily and its just a joy to play like a fluid dance. I also have an wooden Emperor dating to 1958 (60 years old this year) that feels really cold to play and i feel no connection with it it's not what i thought it would be.

Interesting. The Regent from that period is mechanically and acoustically the same as the Emperor. Only the standard of fit and finish differentiated them. While you'll always find differences between different instruments of the same make and model I suspect that in your case it's only a matter of adjustment and set-up. My favorite instrument is a slightly tweaked B & H Imperial in hard rubber. I have a similar instrument in wood that looks much better but doesn't sound as good.

I myself find that my go to horn is my B&H 2-20. I don't know much about it but it feels like an old friend and sounds great to my ears. What more could a guy ask for?

Interesting that they should be similar, i did know the keys were supposedly interchangeable, haven't tested it yet, I've heard a lot of people saying they love there 2-20, never personally seen one though.
