If you had to summarize how to play the clarinet as succinctly as possible how would you do it?
Here is my answer:
Air-Use a strong stream of air to get the reed vibrating well.
Embouchure-Don't let your mouth disturb the vibration of the reed, and keep it steady.
Tongue-Use your tongue to stop the vibration of the reed for articulation and direct the air without changing your air or embouchure pressure.
Fingers-Move with as little motion as possible to finger each note.
Even more succinctly:
Get the reed to vibrate well using strong air and proper embouchure. Then move your embouchure, tongue, and fingers as little as possible to play the notes.
I'm looking forward to seeing what others think!

Embouchure shape is round, like whistling or blowing hard through a straw.
