 Tuning Rings Warpage

I know there have been threads on the topic of tuning rings before, but I couldn't find one regarding this particular issue. Sorry if this has come up before.

I have Muncy tuning rings which I have just noticed are no longer flat. I'm not so worried about this when my barrel is pushed in all the way, as I'd imagine the barrel will flatten the rings out. However, if my barrel is not pushed in all the way, my rings will be warped. Is this an issue for concern? Should I be looking for a different brand of tuning ring that will not warp or is this a trivial matter?

I use tuning rings between joints. On my present clarinet I needed to fine tune the registers by pulling out a little bit. I settled on the added intrusion of the rings to make assembly and constant space easier. In the end they do seem to make the sound a bit smoother, though the space between joints needs to be bit bigger (more rings) than it would be without them.......because of the gap.

Now, being a bit anal about things I use the brass ones sold by Clark Fobes

To get the spacing I wanted I wound up getting two packs. It is also worth noting that the thinnest one is quite bendable.......so just DON'T bend it! Besides that, they are very durable, accurate and will last.

Was looking at brass rings... Seem like they might be less prone to warping than the Muncys.

Do they warp in flatness or also become less round?

If it's just the former, does it matter? If you leave a gap in spite of the tuning ring, it might not matter if that gap is more or less irregular. Even with a flat (not warped) plastic or brass ring it will be irregular to some degre, maybe not enough that you can see it.

If it's also the latter, I guess it depends how close the fit is in the first place, so it doesn't block part of the bore (e.g. if it was too loose and now very elliptic).
