Can anyone tell me anything about this clarinet? I have a students whose parents are looking to sell it. I know it will need to have new pads and cork, but I want to be able to give them a good sell price. Any help would be appreciated.
They say the serial number is K14084 MADE IN FRANCE.
Thanks

It’s in rough shape. $150.00 max.
Cute dog, though.

Looks like the forerunner of what is now the Buffet E13.
A sound intermediate quality clarinet, but over 50 years old and needs a lot of work.
Ken's figure is about right, but it does depend on the precise condition of the bore and mechanism, so impossible to be precise without inspecting.

This is an Evette Schaeffer K series clarinet. It was Evette's top line clarinet and sold for almost as much as the R13 in 1963 when this was made.

It does not have the R13 polycylindrical bore. They are good clarinets, well made with solid key work and good tuning. They tend to be pretty dark and often play fairly stuffy. Using an aftermarket barrel can help with that a lot.

They typically sell for around $200-$350 in good shape, though you'll see some people asking significantly more (and not getting it). Since this one appears to be in need of an overhaul and possibly has other issues, $100 is about the going rate.
