Hey thanks for that good video.
Couple things to help though. First off he is left handed. A righty would wind with the right hand (so don't get hung up on that).
Also he shows a German mouthpiece with a typical option that is a raised ring (at about the top line of ligature) around the mouthpiece to prevent the string from sliding off. Even with this, some Germans make the string tacky by running it a couple of time or so across a cake of 100% beeswax. Without the "bumper" at the top of the mouthpiece (like ALL Boehm mouthpieces) you really want to make the string tacky so that it doesn't just slide off the mouthpiece.

Here is the one that turned me on about 6 months ago and after a few weeks practicing with it, I now perform with it. I have improved the technic quite a bit for my own use and am very secure using it and pleased with the improvement in sound and response.
