 Festival Clarinet Case Lock

Hello everyone,
I recently just bought a new Festival Clarinet, and it has a 3 digit lock on it to open it. When I first recieved it, I could open it fine (with the default pass being 000), but I tried to set a different combonation on there. When I did, the lock stopped opening at 000 and didn’t work for the combo I set. I’ve tried numberous times on each side to go through all the combinations from 000-999 but I could only open the left latch. When I did, I tried resetting the combination once again, and it did not open. I tried to go through all the combinations again but it failed to open. Has this ever happened to you? How can i get into the case without breaking it?

Well!!
I have no advice. :) But I have Festivals and I love them. Some of the best moments of my life have been appreciating new clarinets. To be locked out of your case must be absolutely horrible!!
Good Luck Fiona!!!

Take it to a locksmith, that's what they do.

The case sucks! OMG! This is horrible!

Get a new case. I REALLY like the Marcus Bonna cases because the case never touches the keys. The horns kinda float.

Then sell the stupid case on some sort of website or to a friend.

Email me and I'll send a pic or just google the company. I bought this case because the Buffet case which was new was bending a key. The president of Buffet in Florida said they don't warranty new cases. The Buffet double cases costs $500. The Marcus Bonno costs about the same, but it will be the last case you will ever buy for the rest of your life. Yep they are that good. This is a generic website -

If one side is open keep it open. Sometimes a lock like this requires some jiggling even with the correct code.
Keeping the button pushed for a few minutes can be hard. You might not even notice you don't put enough pressure on it the whole time and if it's the type that needs more jiggling than usual (or just a little defective) then you can miss it.

Unless the lock is broken somehow, it's very easy to pick a combination lock without trying all the numbers. Look for it on Google/YouTube. In general you try each digit wheel and can feel when it's the right digit.

I've managed to open one of these by feel, but I forget how. If you give up. i would cut across the latch to open it and replace the latch.
