When is a new instrument blown in?
Author: Morrigan

Hi all,

Long time no see! So I got a beautiful new Buffet Legendé and have been meticulously “playing it in”. I’m about 2 month in and am playing it for an hour at a time, multiple times a day, up to 3 hours a day. It feels more open and more even and I’m wonder - have I blown it in? Is there more work to do?

It’s blown in, it’s usually after three or four weeks that one can begin playing a new instrument full time.
